The Use of Oils in Ayurveda
Oils are heavily used in the practice of Ayurveda. The use of essential oils on the face and body is an intuitive, natural way of self-care. Ayurvedic oils are a potent contributor to maintain harmony and balance. Due to the extremely small size of the oil molecule, Ayurveda oils penetrate the skin easily and transport the healing properties of nature, directly to the cells in the body.
As part of my Yoga+Ayurveda journey I removed store bought face and body products and mixed my own oils for personal use. I love the ritual of using natural oils; the nourishment it provides; and how they make my skin look and feel. This line was created to share this goodness.
This unique line of Dosha oils for the face and body will introduce you to Ayurveda oils and the application or self-massage will become a ritual on a daily, weekly or monthly basis. It slows you down and offers you a chance to reconnect with yourself in your own way. This self-care practice rejuvenates the skin, calms the nervous system, and offers balance of mind and body.
These are beautiful natural, cold pressed, aromatherapy, organic oils that have been sourced and crafted to compliment your Dosha. The carrier oils and aromatherapy recipes work well with each of the Doshas. Depending on your Dosha they will be uplifting, grounding or soothing. We all have 3 Doshas within us, so you can use your predominant Dosha oils or all 3 of them depending on how you feel.
Stepping into Ayurveda is stepping into true, lasting wellbeing; a way to reconnect with our true self: that which is healthy, vibrant, and spiritually uplifted.
Dosha Face Oils (Sesame + Essential Oils)
Sesame Oil - This invigorating oil has the longest history of more than 5,000 years just like the ancient Ayurvedic system. It also happens to be the first oil that I started to use on my own personal Ayurvedic journey. So it is the base of all 3 of my Dosha face oils.
Sesame oil is rich in vitamin E (potent antioxidant), iron, omega-6 fatty acids, vitamin B6, magnesium, calcium, zinc, copper, dietary fiber and flavonoids phenolic antioxidants.
Massaging your skin with this nourishing natural emollient aids in preventing the symptoms of aging, wrinkles, acne, psoriasis, wounds, burns and other skin infections. Sesame oil also protects your skin from dangerous ultra-violet rays.
Dosha Body Oils (Sunflower, Grapeseed, Sesame + Essential Oils)
Sunflower, Grapeseed and Sesame Oils are the carrier oils of my Dosha Body line. Each oil is selected for your Dosha. These luxurious oils have been created to heighten the self-massage ritual; providing rich nutrients and scent while effectively nourishing and hydrating the body. Other benefits include improved circulation, strengthening and deeply rejuvenating the skin tissue - leaving skin hydrated, revitalized and glowing.
